Simple Kindergarten/Preschool Bread Recipe
1 tablespoon organic brown sugar (can also use monk fruit sweetener instead) 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt 1/4 teaspoon of yeast
2 cups of warm mineral water 4 cups of organic flour
In a non-metal bowl (ceramic or plastic) with a wooden spoon (don’t use metal), mix together the following ingredients: brown sugar, sea salt, yeast, warm water, and 1 cup of flour. Let the mixture sit somewhere warm for approximately 10 minutes or until the mixture froths or bubbles on top (this indicates the yeast is activated).
Add in the remaining 3 cups of flour and mix using a wooden spoon then your hands. Knead and place back on the bowl, cover with a loose-fitting lid or several towels, and leave somewhere warm for approximately 2 hours or more.
After it has doubled in size (2-4 hours), shape it into medium-sized balls using your hand that have been oiled with olive oil to keep the dough from sticking.
Bake for 12 minutes at 430 degrees on an oiled pan or in a pan lined with parchment paper.
Serve hot with olive oil, butter, or jam.
